Can I bring the family dog or other pet? No. Sadly, as much as we love animals, we have a no pet policy for guests.
Are service animals welcome? Yes. Please let us know when you book.
Are you accessible? Please contact us to discuss accessibility.
When is check-in? Between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM
When is check-out? By 1:00 PM
Which methods of payment do you accept? We accept Visa, Mastercard and cash.
Can guests join me for the day? No. It's just not safe and it's currently against the law. According to local health authorities and the provincial government, we can only accept guests from a single household.
Can we drink the water? Yes. You can drink tap water anywhere on camp property.
Are there quiet hours at KFR? Yes. As a family retreat, our quiet hours are from 10 PM - 7 AM. Please remember that our guests choose Kennebec Family Retreats for a relaxing break from real life. Please think about other guests and neighbours across the lake.
Can I light fireworks? No.
Is Wi-FI available? No. Given our location, internet connections are too weak and unpredictable to offer Wi-Fi service.
Do mobile phones work? Yes. You will need your own data plan.
Will you have childcare available? No. There is no childcare available and parents must attend organized activities with their kids. Parents must supervise their family at all times, especially at the waterfront as there will not be lifeguards on duty.
Are there medical staff on property? No. First aid kits are available in common areas.
What should we pack?
Pack as if your family was going to summer camp. Bring...
- Linens for single beds, towels, blankets, pillows, air mattresses, fans, sun protection, sun hats, bug spray and toiletries.
- Clothing in layers as the temperature can change quite a bit during the day and over your stay.
- Fishing rods, sports equipment, bikes, beach umbrellas, lawn chairs etc.
- Refillable water bottles.
- White t-shirts or clothes for tie-dye fun.
- Enough hand sanitizer and masks for your family's entire stay.
You will receive an information package with more details on what to pack, at least one week before your planned arrival.
What About Alcohol and Smoking...
- We will not sell or serve alcoholic beverages; you can bring your own as long as you drink responsibly.
- Smoking is not permitted outside the designated smoking area.
- We will ask guests to leave the property immediately if they are found smoking outside the designated area or drinking irresponsibly.
Kennebec Family Retreats Refund & Cancellation Policy:
- If you must cancel your reservation and let us know at least 15 days prior to arrival, we will charge you the greater of $100 or 25% of your rental fee as a cancellation fee.
- Due to our short season, there will be no refunds if you cancel within 14 days of your planned arrival date.
- If we cancel your reservation due to changes in government or health authority policies, or for reasons beyond our control or yours, we will give you a full refund.
- If you must cancel your reservation because a member of your party tests positive for COVID, send us proof of the positive COVID test and we will give you a full refund.
